Dear Friends:

The Wilmette Institute stands poised at a juncture with many possibilities ahead and needs your support to meet the rapidly growing demand for its services.

In 2001 the number of students taking Wilmette Institute courses grew at least fifty percent, to over 500.  The majority of our new students were in India and other countries in less financially privileged parts of the world and were unable to pay full tuition.  This increase in participation did not, therefore, result in an increase in revenues for the Institute. Indeed, the Institute is experiencing a financial shortfall as a result.

The enthusiasm shown by friends from near and far indicates the great need for the services of the Institute in many parts of the Bahá'í world, and the distance learning courses offered by the Wilmette Institute are uniquely suited to address that need. To serve these friends, we must continue to offer scholarships to students who cannot afford the fees.

The tuition for taking a distance-learning course is between U.S. $100 and $200.  Can you afford to give a $100 scholarship for one needy student? Two? Ten? Please consider sending a check to the National Bahá'í Fund earmarked for the Wilmette Institute. Your contribution will help immensely, because 2002 will see more needy students, not fewer, and a higher demand on our services.

Kindly support us in offering this much-needed service to those thirsty souls who long to deepen their knowledge of the Bahá'í Faith and enhance their teaching skills.

Thank you.

                                                            Sincerely Yours,

P.S.: It is best to send checks to the Wilmette Institute. The Institute will then forward them to the National Fund for processing.
