December will see the beginning of two courses. The course Baha'i Theology began December 1 and is off to an excellent start, with ten students. The study units focus on such subjects as epistemology (how we know something), the nature of God, revelation, manifestation, most great infallibiity, conferred infallibility, the Covenants of God, the purpose of creation, the nature of the human soul, the afterlife, fate, and free will. There is plenty of time to sign up; the first introductory unit continues two weeks. All readings will be available on the course website, including a master compilation of Baha'i authoritative writings on the various subjects. If you've ever wanted to know the basics of Baha'i "metaphysics," this is an excellent place to start.
The World Order of Baha'u'llah: Selected Letters begins December 15 and focuses on the three letters the Universal House of Justice has asked Baha'is to study: The Goal of a New World Order, America and the Most Great Peace, and the Unfoldment of World Civilization. Course materials have become quite rich and diverse over the last year and the course provides an excellent opportunity to obey the urgings of the House of Justice.
